Welcoming Our New Makers for Spring

We have so many fabulous new makers at our Herne Hill store in the last couple of months. It definitely feels like we've had a refresh ready for Spring, and brighter weather ahead. So without further ado let me introduce you to who's new!

We're excited to have expanded our kid's range of educational and fun activities all designed and made in the UK from the very best sustainably minded brands.

History Heroes

History Heroes create award winning, games that are educational and entertaining for all ages. They are passionate about having fun, playing games with others and learning along the way. The personal favourite in our house at the moment is the A Little Slice of History Card game!

Their products are made in the UK and our packaging is 100% recyclable and from sustainable card.

The Den Kit Company

Den Kits were designed to encourage children outside - whether a tiny back garden, on top of a hill, in a meadow, field, forest, beach or balcony. The promise of a hand-crafted space in which to set up a temporary retreat is tempting to children (and adults) of all ages, and with little or no previous den-building experience. No single-use-plastic, no batteries, no complicated instructions - this is inclusive, simple, unadulterated fun.

With the weather hopefully warming up, this will be top of my list for fun with my son in the coming months!

As a jewellery loving magpie and someone who loves colour, I'm so happy introduce our new makers all using the very best crafts to make beautiful handmade pieces.

Studio Lowen

Studio Lowen pieces are made with joy in their studio in West Cornwall. They make products with the simple objective of designing and making pieces that bring happiness through aesthetic and functionality.

Predominately using beautifully soft Italian leathers, sourced from British suppliers to create leather accessories and earrings. They try to minimise wastage wherever they can by trying to use all of the leather hide, using the offcuts to make smaller leather pieces like earrings, keyrings to name a few.

Silk Purse, Sow's Ear

Silk Purse, Sow's Ear is a small, independent jewellery studio based in Edinburgh, Scotland. Specialising in making unique, highly-personalized and sentimental engraved jewellery using good quality materials. They are a diverse team of artists and craftspeople who bring skill, passion and amazing attention to detail to our work.

With so many unique pieces it's hard to decide which ones to put on my birthday list!

Alice Caroline

Alice Caroline grew out of a life-long love of vibrant Liberty prints. As a child, Alice Garrett would pore over her grandmother’s stash of fabrics, savouring the bright delights of each new print. Choosing Liberty fabrics for her products, with its delicate and inventive patterns, intense long-lasting colours, and its traditional English heritage was a natural choice for Alice. Supporting British design and manufacturing is at the heart of their business. Their studio, based in a converted barn in the Cotswold hills, and is a hive of creativity and industry. Their products are made in the UK in an ethically audited factory.
